These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Prevent Duplicate Tabs Chrome browser extension operated by SQ Tech ("us", "we", or "our").

2. Extension Functionality and License

Prevent Duplicate Tabs is a Chrome browser extension that prevents duplicate tabs through:

• Real-time tab monitoring: Detects when new tabs are created or updated

• Duplicate detection: Compares URLs using configurable sensitivity settings

• Multiple strategies: Choose how to handle duplicates (close new, close existing, etc.)

• Whitelist support: Allow specific URLs or domains to have duplicates

The Extension is licensed under the MIT License, granting you rights to use, modify, and distribute the Extension subject to these Terms and the MIT License.

3. Data Processing and Privacy

Prevent Duplicate Tabs operates entirely locally on your device and does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information to external servers. The Extension:

• Processes tab URLs locally in real-time for duplicate detection

• Uses Chrome's built-in storage API to save your preferences and settings

• Monitors tab creation and updates without storing browsing data

• Applies your configured duplicate handling strategies instantly

• Does not access or modify any data outside of tab management functionality

4. User Responsibilities and Limitations

You are responsible for:

• Understanding that the Extension automatically closes duplicate tabs based on your settings

• Using the Extension in accordance with your local laws and regulations

• Keeping your Chrome browser updated for optimal compatibility

• Understanding that closed tabs cannot be recovered through the Extension

• Using the Extension responsibly and not for malicious purposes

• Ensuring you have proper authorization to use tab management features in your environment

• Configuring whitelist entries for URLs that should allow duplicates

5. Technical Requirements and Limitations

The Extension requires:

• Chrome browser version 88 or higher

• Chrome extension permissions for 'tabs', 'storage', and 'activeTab'

• Local storage space for user preferences and whitelist entries

Limitations include:

• Cannot recover closed duplicate tabs

• Only affects tab creation and updates, not existing tabs

• Requires manual configuration of whitelist entries for exceptions

• May interfere with certain browser workflows that rely on duplicate tabs

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Extension is provided 'as is' without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee:

• That all duplicate tabs will be prevented as expected

• Compatibility with all websites or browser configurations

• Recovery of any closed tabs

• Uninterrupted operation of the Extension

• That the Extension will work with all Chrome extensions or browser features
